Sneak Peak Guest Bathroom.......Take Two

Having to resend this since, well, I forgot to attach the pic of Charles on the toilet and we can't have that happen! So here it is again lol

The toilet has been secured and so has the cabinet behind it. Next we need to cut some holes in the back of the cabinet and center it where it needs to be and then the small tower next to the sink that will hold the towels and other stored items, will be bolted to the wall depending on how the cabinet position looks. So for now this is how the bathroom is coming along:




Zak thought it was funny to sit on the toilet for a pic (sigh....BOYS!)



The flash is causing the towels to show through the tower, but its a frosted glass and you can't see what's in it this clearly. Which I like, b/c it doesn't have to stay neat all the time LOL

Love this lady......... lol the kids love wiggling her around.

That shell has followed us around for years. I found it on Shell Island, off the Coast of Panama City, Fl, back before kids (wow, so long ago LOL) when we had a boat and a dog and would cruise to Shell Island to play all day. We were walking on that beach with the dog and I reached down and picked up this perfect shell. Everything was usually all broken up and we couldn't believe we found it! Its a very special shell from a very special time and is carefully placed in each house we live in :) This time it goes up near the Hula Girl on the top of the storage tower which is high enough for me to see and too high for the kids to touch lol.

And finally, he knew I was going to do it, he even said so, so WHY disappoint him? LOL

Shocked? Don't be. If you know me you know that anyone is suceptible to being teased if they GIVE ME the opportunity to do so. Charles gives me many opportunities, I don't show them all to you LOL. Keeping our sense of humor is getting us through this task. Now, I'm sure he is going to learn how to post on my blog and I'm sure he is going to get me back. That is fine...I hang w/ the big dogs. All of you out there, feel free to ignore his posts and only look at mine

For those of you that are still trying to decide what he is doing.......he is anchoring the toilet to the tile LOL

I updated the Guest Bath pic

On the left column. The 'real time' sort of pics. It's..um pretty interesting at the moment. LOL

Take a peek. You'll see a pepto-colored bathroom with some dark coral splotches on the wall. The 'shrimp' color didn't work out as it looks like a sickening pink so we're going w/ the darker coral that was supposed to be an accent color. I used the pepto...ermm... I mean, the 'shrimp' as a primer then decided I wanted some texture on the wall, so right now its still the shrimpy pink but with texture all over the top of it. Tomorrow I'll paint the dark coral over that, Charles will grout the tile on the floor, run some wiring to ad a vent fan.......UG yes this house was built BEFORE the inventions of vent fans.

No, seriously........................

Then, Charles should be installing the cabinet/toilet/mirrors on Monday or Tuesday. At that point, the only thing we'll have to do......or I should say, Charles will have to do, is break down the tile around the tub and re-tile the whole tub area.

Guest Bathroom................

Whenever we start demolition in another room, I ALWAYS end up singing to myself "HEEEERE we go!!!" LOL. This weekend was no different. The guest bathroom was next on our list and it took a beating. lol

I couldn't get a real BEFORE since Charles jumped right in and ripped out the toilet! But here is my before anyway: (sorry if it's dark)

End of Saturday:


End of Sunday. Tile all cut and laid down. Charles is so sick of this!


Next will be ripping out the bathroom window and installing a double pane window. Then paint and installing the vanity. We'll be working a little every night and then again this weekend, so check back soon!
