Guest Bathroom................

Whenever we start demolition in another room, I ALWAYS end up singing to myself "HEEEERE we go!!!" LOL. This weekend was no different. The guest bathroom was next on our list and it took a beating. lol

I couldn't get a real BEFORE since Charles jumped right in and ripped out the toilet! But here is my before anyway: (sorry if it's dark)

The victim (ha!)

Grimy old vanity................

And the grimy old vanity.......being shown THE DOOR!

Buh Bye!

End of Saturday:

End of Sunday. Tile all cut and laid down. Charles is so sick of this!

Next will be ripping out the bathroom window and installing a double pane window. Then paint and installing the vanity. We'll be working a little every night and then again this weekend, so check back soon!

Well, the grout isn't on the backsplash yet, but it's coming! In the meantime, I'll go ahead and put up a pic of what it currently looks like since I'm excited to share!

I just love this 'bubble glass' backsplash! We have a natural porous looking 6 in x 6 in stone surrounding it.

This 6 in stone is also along the breakfast bar and behind the kitchen sink.

Not only did we put the bubble glass behind the stove but we continued it on the floor to divide the kitchen tile from the living room tile as well as the hallway tile on the other side of the kitchen.

Whiter tile is in kitchen. Tan tile is leading to living room:

Here, I'm standing in the dining room looking into the kitchen and you can see the division of the tile on the left of the stove heading into living room and on the left of the stove heading to the hallway:

How do you like that big red air compressor in my living room?

Divider into Hallway:

As I said in the previous post, I call it the JEWELRY of the house ........MAN I LOVE IT! I keep looking for other places to stick it...use it as accents...but Charles keeps holding me back LOL

When everyone sees it their first question is, "Did you have to put each circle up there individually?". I never thought of that! LOL, but the bubble tile comes in 12 in x 12 in 'sheets' of the tile and you just take each foot section and put it up. On the floor, we DID have to pick off each individual pc of glass and press it down into the cement though.

What do you think?

Is this mean or what? We have made a little headway on something I'm SO excited about but it's not completely done....so I will only show you part of it LOL We are getting the backsplash behind the stove done but it is not completed grouted which will really change how it ends up looking so I'll show a larger pic when the grout is on.

So here is part of the backsplash ...circle glass! I call it the jewelry of the house. A finishing touch that shines all clear and pretty!

More in a couple of days when it's finished

Teeny Tiny Update

Ok, well, we had a good few days to work since Charles was off work, but we didn't get as much done as we'd hoped. We did get some backsplash done, I did get a lot of the painting odds and ends taken care of with only a little left over, etc. Here is what is left:

1. The back splash in the kitchen to include the whole wall behind the stove. (70% of this still left)
2. The roof in the kitchen needs to be repaired where the cabinets came down and retextured, painted. (I retextured it, only needs a coat of paint. Ran out of paint)
3. The kickboards all around the bottom of the kitchen cabinets need to be done as well as the molding along the top of the cabinets and molding along the floor in dining room, some hallway and living room. (kickboards and molding on top of cabinets remain. Molding on floor done)
4. There is still some tile that needs to be grouted. (All tile is grouted!)
5. All tile needs to be sealed. (No tile is sealed lol)
6. Kitchen counters need to be sealed. (eh..not done)
7. Living room and dining room need crown molding. (nope)

The backsplash was laid all the counters, it just needs grout and sealer. It looks GOOD! Pics soon) We just need more of the same behind the stove...can't WAIT for this to be done. Wait till you see the tile we picked!

Granite is IN! My FAVORITE post by far!

Know what? I need to update the blog for the past two weeks but the developments today are so exciting that I just want to show the latest! I'll post the other older pics later but for now lets see the granite counter tops! You'll see that the backsplash right above the counters needs to be added (ordering it this weekend) as well as the back splash behind the stove.

We've seen the WAY befores of this kitchen a ton but if you need more of the scary stuff, click here .

Remember this was near the very beginning:

And THIS was just last FRIDAY! Post FLOOD!

Check us out tonight!! DRUM ROLLLLLLLL

Site of the flood on Friday.....

And last but NOT LEAST, my under-mount sink! We were going to get the traditional sink that rests on top of the counter, but all along I had been begging for this under mount style. It's just so clean looking. But they are more expensive and 'we need to sacrifice what we can for the budget's sake'..blah blah blah. So, ok, it's just a sink, no biggie. Then, last week, VIOLA...Charles shows up with this one! He got a really good deal on it and knew it would make me SO SO happy..and here it is...all pretty and ready for the dirty dishes LOL! I'm so excited that I've made about five mistakes typing in this sentence aloner..alone.

And, you can pull the faucet's end part down on a steel hose thingy and push the button and IT is the sprayer that is usually mounted on the side of the faucet, separate. But this is all in one. cool!

I can't wait to wake up in the morning and come in to a fully formed kitchen, functioning, with all appliances in their final resting place........ I'm so relieved I feel like crying! But I won't (wink).

Not letting the grass grow under our feet!
