A bit more on the kids bathroom

So we've been moving pretty slow on this part of the work just because we can I guess. But tonight Charles got the plumbing done on the sink and previously, he put the countertop on, tiled the backsplash and grouted it, hung the mirror, and basically made it functional. Its a small space and I can't get a good angle to show everything fully, so I just took what I could and posted it all. The bathtub is full of materials and trash but for now, this is how the rest looks:









This weekend is going to be busy doing OTHER stuff, like...getting the yard ready for our new family member....... if you didn't hear about that, I'll be posting a pic in a bit ;) But once the yard is ready, the next week Charles plans on tackling the shower area of the bathroom. It never was a shower, only a tub with a little tile on the walls. He plans on opening up the wall, finish out the plumbing to make it a shower, knocking the existing tile off and retiling everything else. THEN this bathroom is done! This will leave ONLY the back bathroom (Master) and a few odds and ends in the other rooms, like some molding, ceiling fans and a tiny bit of grout in the kitchen. OH and recessed lighting somewhere along the way. Not much left!!! .......on the inside. Wait until you see what awaits us outside (gag!). Oh well, one thing at a time, right?

PAINT COLORS! The fun part...........

I've HAD the paint here for a while but just haven't been able to capture the right colors in pictures. I think I succeeded today.... And you know, plans change, but I'll describe what we have in mind as of now for each room.

Living room:


It's like a robin's egg blue. You've seen the slate..think it will all go? we are buying new furniture too, all espresso finish (darrrk) and a copper accent or two around the room to accent the slate. I'll also have espresso picture frames on the walls and other brown accents on the blue/green walls.

Kitchen:



This is more of a silvery blue, a more subtle blue than I can capture. It's called Silver Strand. We are refinishing the ancient cabinets ourselves, and using a Cherry finish. Granite counters. In the adjoining dining room, this silver blue on the top 2/3 of the wall, on the bottom 1/3, cherry finished wanescotting.

Master Bedroom:


It's a really fresh green, but in a calming way...NOT minty. Our furniture now is a dark cherry finish and will look GREAT w/ this. ..well I think so. The adjoining master bath will be this color:



This is a bit dark......again, a 'silvery' purple, more gray in it.....very soothing. Green glass tile accents to bring in the color of the bedroom.

Charlie's room......all designed herself:



3 walls are going to have the pink on top, chair rail then red on bottom. On the ONE wall you face as you walk in, the top will still be pink, chair rail, then pink/blue/white/red striped on bottom. Hula girl and surf theme.

Zak's room...designed himself (scary!!)



This red is coming off very bright, but it's actually the SAME red as Charlie's room above. the blue is a richer blue. Anyway, he wants two walls red, two blue, and flames on his closet door. OH MY!

The kids bathroom..............this one's gonna be fun!
They already have all the decorations from before...surf themed, with child-like art on the walls, all colors! Now the walls will be:


With a 2 foot wide stripe around the room in this color:



No, we are NOT afraid of color around here!! Can't wait till it all comes together!
