Since I can't find the folder with the pictures I WANT to show you, I'll just show some from some other stuff going on around here lately since we are taking a bit of a break from house work. In a week we are ripping out the last room in the house that needs it...the Master Bathroom :) :) Landscaping WAS next but we are waiting until early spring to start. These are the last 2 jobs to do and then there is a few small things like recessed lighting in living room and kitchen, some molding, grouting/sealing, etc.

Otherwise, Jesse and Stephanie came to visit (pics to come in another post) and the rest is same old same old.

Here we are working on a science lesson of Zak's. He's been learning a bit more in depth about dinosaurs, fossils, paleontologists and excavations. We did a couple excavations of our own. One with Play-doh and one with chocolate chip cookies. They had to build the layers of rock (Play-doh) and add fossils to dig up later (mostly pasta).

First layer of 'rock' and embedded fossils:

Next:

Cheez-Its:I cut it so they both got a piece to work on:

Charlie

A fossil impression!

And Charlie reasoned that if a we were removing dinosaur pieces, a whole creature must of have expired here, so she put it back..together.....

LOL, ......yeah. Abstract lol

After lunch we started a 'cookie excavation'. Our favorite kind.....

The point is to remove the chocolate chips gently by chipping away at the crumbly cookie, which is similar to chipping away dirt and rocks from fossils? Sure it's a stretch, but the cookies were good and it was fun :)

One or two cookies later and it was just time to eat them LOL

Don't miss tomorrows' update........... Someone here looks VERY different!
